Welcome to Restoration Page
This is a story of a lovely little Mini which is owned by an even lovlier lady. She loved this car so much she couldn't bear to see it go to rack and ruin so she contacted us to see if we could help. We talked to her so we understood what it was she wanted to do and how lovely she wanted it to look. The following pictures are the stages that this little Mini went through to get to its new prestine look and can now be seen bobbing around Warrington.
This was the first thing to attack the very rusty sills

The rear 1/4 panels were very corroded. We cut the corrosion out, fabricated some plates and welded the plates in. Later these would be skimmed with filler to level them out ready for painting later.

Then we got the wire brush out to clean off underneath the arches looking for more corrosion. (At this point we don't want to miss any)

Another favourite place for rot on the Mini is the bulkhead/scuttle panel. These were cut out and fabricated plates were made to fit and welded in.
We actually bought a new front panel which we welded on along with new subframe mounts which were fit at this time, to make life really easy. We are now ready for the wings and apex panels before rolling down to the paint shop, and handing over to Jeff our painter.

It all starts to become worthwhile at this point when you can see this old tired Mini getting a new lease of life and a coat of primer

Nice thick coates of primer was applied and blended at edges and baked in our low bake oven.

Wouldn't you just give anything to have Jeff wrap your Christmas pressie's

Years of practise allows Jeff to mask this car in a way that when the masking is removed paint is where it should be and not everywhere it shouldn't be.
There is nothing worse that seeing paint left on windows and trims where the vehicle has not been masked up properly.

When the Mini was painted we then cleaned all the chrome, new bumpers fitted and bingo what a stunner.
Rolls Royce
This is a very lovely Rolls Royce which we are sure a lot of local couples over the last 25 years whilst the current owner has owned and loved this car have been taken to their wedding ceremony or special occasion.
As with anything that is nearly 40 years old it needs a bit of TLC. Over the years the sills have been patched but this year new sills were purchased. On this Rolls Royce Shadow 1 you can purchase sections of the front wings which we spliced into place. These were then skimmed with filler and leveled before paint.

All chrome fitmets were removed including the dramatic grille with the Silver Lady. The front panel was then repaired ready for paint.

Minor damage to rear door was strightened at this point

Have you had your photo taken with this car? Send your photo to sue@spgukltd.com and we will include you on the website.

All ready for lots more weddings and special occasions. Fabulous.
